This VoltaGrid microgrid in Midland, Texas, supplies 70 MW of natural gas-generated power to support production operations and a low-carbon hydraulic fracturing site. The system transmits 40 MW via a dedicated 25-kV line to an electrical submersible pump (ESP) production grid, ensuring continuous, 24/7 operations. A second independent 30-MW line powers a low-carbon electric fracturing site, where portable, custom-designed mobile substations convert the voltage for site distribution. Courtesy: VoltaGrid
